Human Resources Manager, Hotel 1000

Nicole Newton joined Hotel 1000 as human resources manager in October 2007 and brings more than 17 years of hospitality industry experience to the property.

Newton manages all aspects of Hotel 1000’s human resources department, including benefit administration, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, performance evaluations and reviews, security and safety, as well as hotel policies and procedures. She also ensures that the hotel is in compliance with federal and state laws through the administration of programs provided by the Human Resources Department.

Prior to joining Hotel 1000, Newton served as the director of catering and convention services at The Westin in Bellevue, where she assisted in the interview process for all hotel staff. She also created and trained sales and catering teams on department standards. Previously, Newton held the position of director of catering and convention services at top hotels such as the W Hotel in Seattle, The Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Wash. and The Westin Maui.

She began her career in the hospitality industry in 1991 at the Embassy Suites in Bellevue, where she served as a front desk agent. 6 years later, she became the director of front office services at the Doubletree Hotel in Bellevue, Wash.

A native of Bellevue, Wash., Newton graduated from Bellevue Community College. She now resides in Bonney Lake, Wash.
