For the first time, Travel + Leisure has ranked properties based on size and type. The categories for hotels in the United States and Canada included top resorts, top large city hotels with 100 rooms or more, top small city hotels with fewer than 100 rooms, top inns with fewer than 40 rooms and resorts in Hawaii.
