SHOP FOR A CAUSE: HOTEL 1000 ANNOUNCES 12 DAYS SHOPPING PASSPORT TO BENEFIT LOCAL NON-PROFIT ART WITH HEART

SEATTLE (November XX, 2008) – Hotel 1000, downtown Seattle’s premier luxury destination, announces the 12 Days Shopping Passport as the latest addition to the second annual 12 Days of Comfort, Joy and Cheer, a month-long celebration in the burgeoning West Edge neighborhood. The beneficiary for this year’s celebration will be Art With Heart, a local non-profit that works to empower youth in crisis through therapeutic books that foster self-expression.

Throughout the month of December, Hotel 1000 will offer guests a 12 Days Shopping Passport, inviting them to shop at a variety of boutiques and specialty retailers in the hotel’s West Edge neighborhood, while giving back to the community. Each boutique will donate 12 percent of all purchases generated from the Passport Program to Art With Heart.

The passport includes a range of retailers inviting guests to find one-of-a-kind holiday party attire, along with specialty gifts from local retailers. This year’s participating retailers include: BoConcept Seattle, Buckets at Harbor Steps, Encanto Barcelona, Far 4, The Finerie, Hästens, Hotel 1000 Lobby Shop, Jack Straw, The Legacy Ltd., Le Marcel Specialty Bakery for Dogs, Liave, Light Matters, RE Welch Galleries, Sandylew, Scandia Jewlers, Spaahh at Hotel 1000, Totokaelo and Watson Kennedy. All retailers in the program are located within walking distance of the hotel.

If an item is purchased at any of the 12 Days retailers, the Passport carrier will receive a stamp. Once three or more stamps are collected, the Passport is eligible to enter a drawing for a one night stay in Hotel 1000’s Grand Suite (valued at $5000). A winner will be chosen at random on New Year’s Eve.

In addition, Hotel 1000 has compiled an eclectic collection of modern holiday entertainment corresponding to the verses of the traditional carol set to perform at the hotel. Event highlights include: performances by HB Radke and his Big Band Trio, Seattle Men’s Chorus ensemble Captain Smarty Pants, Seahawks’ Blue Thunder marching band and Total Experience Gospel Choir; Holiday Gay Bingo night; Santa pictures with the Seattle Seahawks’ Sea Gals; and much more. BOKA KITCHEN + BAR will offer 12 Days-themed menu items and Spaahh will launch new 12 Days-themed treatments, such as the Couple’s Dove Massage and Swan Hydrating Facial. Hotel 1000 will also offer a 12 Days hotel package called ‘Comfort, Joy & Cheer,’ for the month of December, including complimentary gift wrapping and Towncar service within the to downtown shopping core. Twelve percent of the proceeds of all 12 Days hotel packages, spa treatments, BOKA menu items and gift cards sold will go directly to Art With Heart.
